Dr. Brand has been practicing psychology for over 30 years. She has a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Brand has had training and experience in Helping children, adolescents, couples and individuals at various life-cycle stages. She has worked with issues including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, addictions, relationship problems, trauma and loss. Dr. Brand is a former faculty member at the Chicago Center for Family Health. There she provided supervision and training to post graduate students, with a systemic and resilience model approach. She is also a former adjunct faculty member at the Adler School of professional psychology, where she taught courses in family therapy to graduate students. C Currently, Dr. Brand's work is focused on private practice work with individuals, couples and families. She also runs groups. Both virtual and in person meetings are available in her practice. She is also available for professional consultation and supervision. Dr. Brand seeks to understand and help guide people in her practice by understanding them in context of past and present systems and experiences that have influenced them. Her work involves an understanding of both issues and symptoms, which are constraining, and strengths and components of resilience that have helped them cope. Theoretically she practices with a systemic, and strength and resilience based approach. She also blends relational models in her work. Dr. Brand incorporates several clinical models that can be used as needed for the particular problem presented.
